Sherri Shepherd is excited about her new talk show for a couple of reasons.
The 55-year-old funny lady says when she got the good news about her new chat show, ‘It was literally like when you win a beauty pageant.’
And then she thought, ‘Can my son get a job at the show?
Now this boy is going to be a working and contributing to my household.’

In an interview on the PEOPLE Every Day podcast, the comedian who cut her teeth as a co-host on The View and filling in on The Wendy Williams show said her own talker, Sheri, which will debut in September, is the culmination of a long sought for dream.
‘It was something that was such a blessing because it’s been a dream of mine since I was a little girl.’
The Mr. Iglesias actress said, ‘I’m excited to bring my brand of humor and lightness and fun to the daytime talk show space.’

The single mother thinks it might be good for her home life as well.
She lives with her her soon to be employed son Jeffrey, 17.
‘Doing a daytime talk show is such a great thing for me because we do it and I’m off by a certain time,’ said the 5’1″ powerhouse. ‘Now I still gotta do my research and all of that, but I still can be home.’
The Emmy award winner admits parenting hasn’t always been easy with her schedule.
